This year, the Pestana group has decided on a minimum salary increase of 5% for all employees and a minimum salary of 1,100 euros, it said in a statement released today.

“The Pestana Hotel Group has promoted a general increase in salaries, with a minimum salary increase of 5% for all employees,” he said, adding that the “base value created by the Portuguese group to value the salaries of its employees in entry-level positions will be increased by around 10% in 2024, to 1,100 euros, including the value of the meal allowance.”

According to the hotel group, “March salaries already include these increases”, and in the case of the minimum remuneration, “it means more than double the 4.3% inflation rate for 2023 and the continuation of the policy of positioning above the national minimum wage”.

This remuneration, he said, “includes the 900 euros of recurring salary and the meal allowance of 9.6 euros per working day, for a total that, depending on the calendar days, will exceed 1,100 euros”.

The company pointed out that “the Pestana Hotel Group’s salary policy” has been to “reinforce the remuneration and benefits of its employees, an example of which is the average salary update of 12% in 2023 and the distribution of dividends averaging two extra salaries”.

“This year it was also decided to offer all employees, in addition to health insurance, psychological support and access to Pestana Academy initiatives, an increase to 50% in the discount at all Pestana and Pousadas de Portugal units,” said José Theotónio, executive chairman of the Pestana Hotel Group, quoted in the same press release.
