In 2021, discounting the effect of inflation, wage earners will earn an average of 1,294 euros, only 118 euros more than ten years earlier.
“In 2021, salaried employees in companies will earn an average of 1,294 euros” gross, which, compared to 2011, “represents an increase of 210 euros which, discounting the effect of inflation, is only 118 euros,” Pordata said in a statement.
According to Pordata, “as far as the major professional groups are concerned”, some “obtain salaries higher than the national average”, especially “representatives of the legislative power and executive bodies (+1,483 euros)”, the “intellectual and scientific professions (+701 euros)”, the “intermediate level technicians (+314 euros), among which there is an exception: technicians and intermediate level health professionals earn 108 euros less than the national average”, he stressed.
Pordata also detailed that, within these three aforementioned groups, “the best paid professions are related to management or direction”, such as “representatives of the legislative power and executive bodies, senior officials of the Public Administration, directors and managers of companies (who earn, on average, 3,577 euros); directors of administrative and commercial services (3,091 euros); directors of production and specialized services (2,826 euros); and technicians in legal, social, sports and cultural services (2,331 euros).
Science, technology, engineering and mathematics professions are also among the best paid, with salaries exceeding 1,850 euros,” said Pordata.
