The unemployment rate was 6.7% in February, down 0.2 percentage points year-on-year, but 0.1 percentage points higher than in January, according to provisional data released today by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

“The unemployment rate stood at 6.7%, 0.1 percentage points higher than in the previous month and three months earlier, but 0.2 percentage points lower than in the same month of 2023,” says INE in its “Monthly Employment and Unemployment Estimates” for February.

There were 359,400 unemployed that month, 2.1% more than in January, 3.2% more than three months earlier and 1.1% less than in January 2023.
