The unemployment rate rose in June to 6.7%, higher than the previous month and the same month in 2023, according to provisional data released today by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
“The unemployment rate stood at 6.7%, higher than in the previous month and three months earlier,” with an increase of 0.2 percentage points (p.p.) in both and 0.4 p.p. year-on-year.
In June, the unemployed population, 360,800, “increased in relation to the three comparison periods: 3.8%, 4.1% and 8.2%, respectively,” said INE.
