Two men died today in a work accident at the Repsol Polímeros plant in Sines (Setúbal), when they fell from “a height of more than 30 meters”, a source from the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT) revealed.
According to the same source, the two workers “were dismantling a structure and fell from a height of more than 30 meters”.
ACT has already mobilized a team of inspectors to the scene to carry out the necessary investigations and determine the causes of the accident, according to the source.
Contacted by Lusa, a source from the Alentejo Litoral Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command said that at 16:29 the fire department was alerted to a fall of temporary or mobile structures.
It was “the collapse of scaffolding at the Repsol Polímeros plant, with two victims,” said the sub-regional command, refusing to give further details.
Thirteen operatives were mobilized to the scene, supported by six vehicles, including resources from the fire department, GNR and the National Institute for Medical Emergency (INEM).
